She's So Bad

I recently devoured all three books of the series by Stieg Larsson. Yes, the first book was difficult to get into, as I'd heard. I promise you that if you can make it to page 60 or so, you'll be hooked and will sail through the rest. Some of the Swedish surnames are very similar-sounding; sometimes if there are many characters to differentiate I'll jot the names and identifying characteristics onto a bookmark for reference. If that makes me the ultimate book-nerd that is okay!! I know what I am, ha ha.

The heroine of the books, Lisbeth Salander, is a take-charge kind of girl...she is a victim but doesn't "play the victim." Instead she just lives her life and does what needs to be done instead of whining about it. She does exact revenge on a few targets in very scintillating ways that I would only dream of. I especially love the ending of the third book. She uses her resources wisely! It's unfortunate that Larsson died shortly after delivering the manuscript for the last book in the series, but what a swan song.

I 100% agree with you – his trilogy rocks! I've heard rumors of a fourth book being finished by someone else, he apparently started it or left notes. Not sure how I'd feel about that, but heck, I'd probably devour it the second it's released ;)

I haven't read the books but I've seen the first movie and enjoyed it. My husband enjoyed the books.
